Frequently
asked questions
Do your cakes include nuts and dairy products?
Although
we do not include nuts in any of our cakes they are made in a kitchen
that is not 100% nut free. Please note some decorations may contain hydrogenated
peanut oil. Please enquire before ordering if this is a concern. Our cakes
are made with dairy products including real butter and free range eggs,
however we can offer egg free, dairy free and gluten free cakes. Please
ask for details. Only ginger cakes contain milk.
How
long do your cakes keep for?
Because
our cakes are freshly baked daily and made from just natural ingredients
they are at their best the day you receive them. They will however keep
well for several days if kept in an airtight container at room temperature.
Can
you keep the cakes in a fridge?
It is best not to keep cakes in the fridge as they can dry out, moisture
can affect the texture of the frosting and the other foods may taint the
flavour.
Can
cakes be customised?
Yes, all our cakes are baked to order so can be made to your precise
specification where possible. We offer a great selection of toppings and
colours to suit your occasion.
What
happens if the stand gets damaged or pieces lost?
If the stand unfortunately gets damaged or pieces become lost while you
are hiring
it, dismantling it or before you return it to us we will still need the
stand back
and all the pieces including any broken pieces. The stand remains the
property of
The Cupcake Baker at all times.
Can cakes be collected from our premises?
Cakes acn be collected from our premises by prior appointment. Any
cakes or products including cupcakes, top cakes, mini cakes, macaroons
and tray bakes that are collected by a client are no longer the responsibility
of the Cupcake Baker once the products have departed from our premises.
The Cupcake Baker will not be liable for any damaged products in transit
by the client.
Will
we have the deposit for stand hire returned?
As long as the stand is returned to us within 4 days of your event
and is complete and totally undamaged, we will refund you the hire charge.
Please note as the stand is made from high quality perspex it will easily
scratch. Please take care when displaying or dismantling the stand to
avoid this.
For weddings and events are we able to arrange our own delivery and set
up at our event venue?
If you wish to arrange your own delivery and set up that's ok but
you will need to
check with the venue that they are willing to set up the display for you.
To ensure
our cupcakes are transported in the best possible way with ease of storage
for
yourselves or the venue, they will be supplied in our purpose built cupcake
delivery
boxes of which there will be a small charge for larger orders.
Can we use a fresh flower display as a top cake topper?
Yes. If real flowers are required for a top cake decoration or to display
on the cake stand, please check that the florist a) knows the size of
the cake and b) that they know the arrangement will be used on or near
an edible product. Some flowers are toxic and we cannot be liable for
any contamination to our cakes that may arise from using unsuitable floral
arrangements.
